Travelers Told to Cut
Back on Expenses
|
|
Companies today are asking employees to travel more cheaply,
whether by booking advance-purchase airline tickets, less-fancy hotels or
more-fuel-efficient rental cars. Whether you are an independent
traveler, or a company employee, SATA has many money saving benefits
available to relieve the pressure of expensive travel for you or your
company. For example, with the CLC program, you won't need to waste
time comparison shopping for a clean, comfortable place to stay.
After you have enrolled in the program, go online via the SATA website,
enter the city to which you will be traveling, and you will see a list of
the hotels, addresses and the CLC rates. Also, whether for taxes or
expense reports, you can access your history of accommodation online at
CLC's website. Click here to enroll now.

Even at Megastores,
Hagglers Find No Price Is Set in Stone
|
|
Shoppers are discovering an upside to the down economy. They

DSW 4th Quarter Drop
in Sales and Profits
|
|
DSW reported a 94% drop in fourth-quarter net profits
despite a slight rise in total revenues. Same-store sales fell
1.7%. As a result, DSW shares dropped 24% in trading last week to
close at $13.36.
To combat the drop in profits and amid economic uncertainty, DSW is
altering its strategy. "...First, sharper pricing and showing a
deeper value to the consumer on commodity items is key," said Deborah
Ferree, CMO of DSW.
DSW said it expects same-store sales to be negative and earnings per share
to be "significantly below" the 68 cents the company earned in
the first half of last year, yet DSW still plans to open 30 stores and
launch an e-commerce business.
