Travelers on the Road Again...Don't Forget to Use Your CheckInn Card

CLCLogoWhy pay more for a hotel room than you have to? With the CheckINN card, you save 30-50% every time you use it.

Corporate Lodging Consultants (CLC) is the largest negotiator of hotel rates for businesses in North America. CLC's combined purchasing power of 7,000,000 annual room nights has lowered lodging costs for its large customers for years. Now with CheckINN Direct, small and independent businesses can use CLC's negotiating strength and easy billing, too.

"I am amazed at how much I save using the Corporate Lodging Card" said Gina Berman, past president of SATA, noting that she saved over $1000 last year in hotel costs using the card.  "When I was in Scottsdale in March, I paid $52 a night.  I felt sorry for the guy that was next to me at the counter.  He was looking to stay the night and was told the seasonal rate was $149.00 a night.  That's huge!!!  I've found a hotel that I've been willing to stay at in every city I travel to.  I was just in downtown Portland and paid $55 a night."

Even when expenses are paid for by your company, remember expenses in all areas going up and companies are looking to cut costs.

R. Goodnough, of Vestal, NY, wrote to let us know, "On a recent trip I had the opportunity to use my new CLC card.  I just wanted to let you know I got back my membership dues in one stay.  It looks like it will be a very good investment for me."

If you haven't signed up for the free CLC card yet you are not getting the full benefit of your membership.  Even if you have favorite hotels and only use the card a few times a year, you'll still be saving.  And the best part is you can receive your hotel points and mileage points at many of the hotels.

Retail Sales Increased in April

Retail sales rose 2.3% in April over last year, giving retailers reason to take heart after several months of flat sales, according to the National Retail Federation.

The sales figures were released in mid-May by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

"While it's apparent that consumers are still holding back, the spring season helped get people back into stores," said NRF chief economist Rosalind Wells.  "The month-to-month sales increase was the largest we've seen since last November, a much welcomed reprieve."
